To reassemble the strut and spring assembly: If replacing the lower insulator, set it into position with the dropped portion seated in the lowest part of the seat. Extend the damper rod and install the rubber bumper. Place the coil spring onto the lower insulator, ensuring the end fits into the recessed portion of the lower seat. Install the upper insulator and spring seat, aligning the flats on the damper shaft with the flats in the spring seat. Align the "OUT" mark on the upper spring seat with the mark on the upper insulator. For front struts, ensure the arrow on the spring seat faces toward the lower bracket. For rear struts, position the suspension support with the pointed part facing out and the hole centered on the strut bracket. Install the dust seal and suspension support to the damper shaft. Install the nut and tighten it to the specified torque. Remove the spring compressor tool. Finally, install the strut spring assembly.

The final steps for this procedure are as follows: Reattach the brake hose bracket to the strut. If the vehicle is equipped with ABS, install the speed sensor wiring harness bracket. Install the wheel and lug nuts. Lower the vehicle and tighten the lug nuts to the specified torque. Tighten the three upper mounting nuts to the torque. For models with electronic modulated suspension and disassembled struts, tighten the nut in the center of the strut to the torque. Connect the electrical connector and install the cap.

If the vehicle is equipped with ABS, the flexible hose and ABS speed sensor should be removed from the shock absorber.
